Unhelpful host, dirty apartment, good location Positive: Great location and easy to get the keys Negative: I had May 21 to May 25 booked already at this location. The apartment was dirty and renovated cheaply, but the location was good and once I unpacked I didn't want to repack to find a new hotel. However, on May 24, I requested to extend my stay one more night to May 26 due to changing travel plans. I contacted the host and requested this and was told they would get back to me. They never got back to me, and on May 25 I followed up again and asked about this, and they told me it was possible, but that I would need to make a new reservation on booking.com. I went to make the reservation, and the price per night had jumped more than 50% from the original rate I booked. On top of that, the host did not waive the cleaning fee for the extra night I wanted to add. I had already paid a cleaning fee for my stay May 21 to 25, and to add 1 more night with no additional cleaning, they charged me an additional 70 euros for a cleaning! The apartment was never clean to begin with! There was a cigarette butt under the bed (I don't smoke) and hair throughout the apartment. By the time I found out that they were going to charge me 2x cleaning fees for 1x stay, it was too late to find another lodging and it was raining outside and didn't want to be stranded with nowhere to go so I paid, but I was unhappy to do it. The host will blame this on booking.com somehow I'm sure, but they never responded to my original request to extend my stay, and by the time I followed up I was stuck in their dirty apartment for another night. See attached pics for cigarette under the bed. Also, no towel hooks or anywhere to put bathroom items. Usually would place items on the floor then, but the floor was very gross. Again, please stay in any other rental or hotel in Aalen rather than this one. Don't believe the ratings, it is not nice other than the location.

Great location - bad everything else. Positive: The location was great in the center of the city and getting the keys was easy from the lock box. Negative: The apartment was pretty dirty throughout. Many long black hairs everywhere and sticky spots on the floor. The layout of the furniture was different than the photos so I went to move the sofa because the dining table was between the sofa and the TV making sitting and watching tv not possible. The sofa had a broken bracket when I went to move it and had to be left against a wall or it would fall apart. The apartment was clearly renovated, but was redone with the cheapest materials/furniture possible. I told the hosts the space was dirty and they offered to have a cleaning crew come through (too busy to accommodate that) or offered a small discount on the cleaning fee. What I really wanted was for the space to be clean before I arrived. I vacuumed the space myself and their vacuum didn't have a moving brush and just pushed dirt around. The dishwasher was full of cleaned dishes that hadn't been put away when I arrived. I visit Aalen twice a year and have stayed in numerous hotels and apartments - this one was the worst I've stayed in.
